KChat Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 28, 2026
KChat is a communication app provided for KChat users by Kiran AI Digital Pvt Ltd / Kiran ERP. This policy explains what information KChat collects, why it is used, and how users can control it.
Information we collect
- Account information: name, public KChat ID, phone number, email address, login/session details, and profile details that you provide.
- Contacts: with your permission, KChat reads phone contacts on your device to help identify saved contacts who are also using KChat. KChat stores only those matches — which of your saved contacts already use KChat, never your full contact list — and uses them to decide who can see your status.
- Messages and communication content: chat messages, voice notes, media attachments, status/story posts, reactions, comments, and call signalling information.
- Media and files: photos, videos, audio, documents, and links that you choose to send, upload, or post as a status.
- Device and app information: device label, platform, app version, notification/push token, logs needed for security, delivery, diagnostics, and app reliability.
- Call permissions: microphone and camera access are used only when you start or answer voice/video calls, record voice notes, or choose media.
How we use information
- To create and secure your KChat account.
- To send and receive messages, files, statuses, notifications, and voice/video calls.
- To show saved-contact based chat/call eligibility and contact requests.
- To improve reliability, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot technical issues.
- To comply with applicable legal, security, and policy requirements.
Sharing
KChat does not sell your personal information. Your information is shared only as needed to provide the app, such as message delivery between users, notification delivery, media access for recipients you choose, or legal/security compliance when required.
Status and message retention
Status/story posts are designed to expire automatically after 24 hours. Users can delete their own eligible status posts. Message and account data may remain stored as needed for service operation, user access, backups, security, and legal compliance.
Your choices
- You can deny or revoke device permissions such as contacts, camera, microphone, notifications, and media access from Android settings.
- You can delete status posts from inside KChat.
- You can contact us for account or privacy requests.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect KChat data. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so users should share information carefully.
Children
KChat is not designed primarily for children. Users should use KChat only if they are legally allowed to use communication services in their region.
